At Least Two Killed in Severe Midwest Storms
Yesterday afternoon, June 16th, 2014, at approximately 3:00PM local time, tornadoes crashed into the small town of Pilger, Nebraska. The destructive tornadoes took at least two lives, and hospitalized nineteen others. The severe weather, which continued into the night, affected three other states as well, namely, Iowa, Wisconsin and North Dakota, causing damage and flash floods. Pilger was the worst off of all the areas affected, however, as it was completely destroyed. FEMA has announced the tragedy as a disaster, and is providing disaster aid to the area. Below is video footage of the tornadoes, gathered by the Weather Channel’s storm chasers.
