Wild and chaotic weather is rampaging North Carolina. While snow showers and blustery winds blanketed higher escarpments in the Blue Ridge Mountains Friday morning, a burst of thunderstorms down the road brought tornadoes to the communities just outside of Charlotte.
Winter tornadoes were once thought to be as rare as a complete solar eclipse but changing climate dynamics have extended the twister season to a point where forecasters can no longer deviate separate seasons. There’s no beginning or end to the onslaught of killer storms. Along with a deluge of debris and chaos, the extraordinary strong line of storms unleased several unconfirmed tornadoes in Kannapolis and Gastonia.
U.S. Safe Rooms are manufactured in the Carolinas, but can offer steel protection nationwide
By the saving grace of advanced warning systems and a cognizance of the threat of severe weather in the vicinity, there were no reported injuries. A 16-year-old Kannapolis boy claims he witnessed the tornado touching down before seeking cover.
“I knew a tornado had touched down, and I saw my cat, tackled him, and we went running and hid in the closet,” the teen said. “And then I just heard glass shattering everywhere. It was unreal.”
When it comes to tornadoes, there’s no substitute for a steel welded safe room or underground shelter
Closets and bathrooms are adequate makeshift storm shelters, but they are not built to withstand wind speeds of 200 miles per hour, which can drive items as small as toothpicks through telephone poles. Victims can also become trapped as their home is inundated with debris, compounding the efforts of an already frantic rescue team searching for survivors. There’s only one material that can safely protect you from a tornado: steel. U.S. Safe Room offers a line of above and belowground steel shelters are engineered to withstand almost any possible storm scenario.
What is more important? Safety and comfort or temporary joy?
Residents of storm prone areas should take stock of their home’s infrastructural needs and prioritize necessities over luxury items. Safety should never be blacklisted as a luxury. Many homeowners don’t believe they can afford a U.S. Safe Room modular safe room, which can be retrofitted into almost any existing home. Federal grants are available for qualified homeowners and Ohio even offers a rebate program for those who’ve been affected by these killer storms. We’re also guessing there are few items on your wish list, swimming pool or a home entertainment center that you could probably live without.
U.S. Safe Rome’s metal is as tough as our mettle in providing quality storm shelters
Our safe rooms can withstand the brunt force of any storm and we have the tests to prove it. Texas Tech University’s Wind Institute threw our storms through a battery of tests to gauge our shelters’ structural integrity. Two-by-fours and other dangerous projectiles were hurled at our modular unit’s doors to ensure they are up to the task of providing superior steel protection. These objects barely left a dent in the exterior steel paneling and there was no sign of compromise to the interior structural integrity. Needless to say, needless to say, we earned the Wind Institute’s seal of approval.
