Carnage at Cincinnati Nightclub
In the early hours of Sunday morning, police responded to reports of a shooting at the Cameo nightclub in Cincinnati, Ohio. The ensuing carnage left one person dead and sent another 16 to the hospital, with five victims still in serious or critical condition. Authorities say that several people were able to sneak guns into the club and they believe more than one person was involved in the shooting. According to police at the scene, the said the incident developed from a dispute that began earlier in the day and escalated quickly. Police currently do not have any suspects in custody but are interviewing witnesses and investigating the scene of the shooting. Although many witnesses quickly left when the shooting took place, everyone that can be identified is being interviewed, and police are hoping other witnesses will come forward to help identify the suspects.
The club owner has stated that they are cooperating in the police investigation and will assist in any way possible. In the meantime, the owner announced that the club will be shut down as they try to decide how to deal with violent confrontations in the future, which the club has a history of. The Cincinnati Assistant Police Chief stated that they are aware that they club has had security issues in the past and that multiple assaults have been reported at Cameo in the past few years.
