The National Weather Service is investigating the Gentry tornado in Arkansas on Thursday (July 9th) which left behind significant damage. The city is beginning its recovery by assessing all of the damage and doing general city cleanup.
The storm barreled through the city with winds up to 70 miles per hour which was able to topple trees, damage several structures, and send debris flying through the air. The worst of the damage occurred at the McKee Foods where a small structure was lifted off the ground and tossed into the parking lot of cars. Multiple vehicles were damaged from the structure.
The vice president at McKee Foods was glad to see that no one was injured and that it was only a close call. The damage at the foods plant included heavy structural damage, employee vehicles, and six of the big rigs that the company owns. The structural damage was limited to a large storage shed.
