A massive tornado touched down in Fairdale, Illinois late in the evening on April 9th. Fairdale Illinois is a small town located in the northern part of the state. It inhabits roughly two hundred people within seven square blocks. This massive half-mile wide tornado ripped right through the center of town killing two people and injuring seven. Tens of homes were completely wiped off of their foundation and about seventy buildings were heavily damaged.
What happened in Fairdale, Illinois was a terrible occurrence that we wish would never happen again. The reality of it all is that tornadoes are going to keep forming and there is nothing we can do to stop them.
